I have decided to create a simple Logo, as my game has a very realistic feel to it, so I didn’t want to over-complicate my Logo idea.
I am going to create a first draft, which will include a very simple piece of animation and it will also give people a clue into where the game might take place and a few things they may come across during the game-play.
I want my Logo to portray a very simple, yet well thought out design, whilst being nice to look at and already setting the atmosphere of my Game.
I have decided to use the Typeface: Orator Std. As you can see it is a very neat Typeface, allowing the audience to see the name of the game very clearly and not have any confusion. I have made the text very large, and made it very clear for people to see. Now my next step is to create the mood, by adding in a background image that I think will portray what I feel my game will hopefully look like, or something I would be happy with to help create the atmosphere of my game.
I like the look of this image, as it sets the mood of a very diverse set of environments, including mountainous regions and some sky-islands. It also includes a few distant planets or moons, and a large structure in the background. I like this because it allows the person looking at the image to make another image in their heads about the game, already seeing if they would be interested in playing it or not
I have finished getting the layout of the logo how I want it to be, I have included a few little secrets too, including the design of the final boss on the mountain, so people will have to look very closely if they want to see it. And a few other small secrets, to give people some more information if they find them.
I have taken the base levels from Adobe Illustrator. Imported them as a composition into Adobe After effects and I am now starting work on the animation and effects side of my Logo. I want to create something that seems complex and thought out, but also something that is within my skill level, and something that would fit the feel of the game. Trying to keep the theme going the whole way through making the Logo.
I have added in two dragons, animating both the wings of the larger dragon, making it seem like he is flying or hovering in place. I have also added a smaller, golden-yellow coloured dragon and I have animated him to look as though he is falling from where the Black/Silver dragon is flying, suggesting some sort of fight, or some sort of battle between the two has taken place, and this is the remnants of that.
I have also animated the title of my game: WILD. As the animation of the logo continues, the title becomes clearer and clearer, meaning the viewer will have more and more revealed to them as time goes on. This will show the viewer some of what will happen in the game, as they will have to keep playing, to uncover more facts and secrets. This will be a small foreshadow into some of the gameplay and some of the storyline along the way.
